Interlaken began work on a public sewer extension for the City of Portland last week in North Portland. The project consists of installing 109 LF of 8″ PVC sewer mainline, boring under N. Williams Avenue to install a 40′ service lateral and replacing the existing manhole. There have been multiple technical aspects to this project including the new field fit manhole, the alignment of the lateral in regards to the existing building location and the bore pit placement, and working around other main utilities in the street. The new manhole installation was a tight fit, as we had to place it between a NW Natural Gas Line and a City of Portland Water Line, with very little room to spare. Take a look at our progress!
